Budget Deficit talk in Arcata on Friday

Hi All,
Humboldt State Economics Department is having an econ forum this Friday, October 7th, at 5pm at Carmela's in Arcata (on G and 13th Street).  They will be discussing the article "The Fiscal Austerity Trap: Budget Deficit Alarmism is Sabotaging Growth."  I've never been to one of these things, and it is on your Friday night, but it could be entertaining and educational.  I will call up the Econ Department tomorrow and see if some of you who would like to go could participate.  I will also coordinate with the dorm director and the RAs to see if rides could be given.  Mr. Florence owes me a favor... maybe I will cash it in!

Don't forget tomorrow is Bruce Bueno de Mesquita's 2009 lecture to the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.  I'm glad so many of you like playing poker!

Here is the Econ Department's Post:

Econ Forum - Debt or Depression
The first Econ Forum will be looking at Thomas Palley's article "The Fiscal Austerity Trap: Budget Deficit Alarmism Is Sabotaging Growth". Come discuss the role of deficit-financed public investment in spurring economic growth.
